Exceptional Parent Magazine solicited Save Babies Through Screening Foundation to contribute to their September 2011 issue in honor of Newborn Screening Awareness month.

The resulting article concerns the need to educate families, expectant parents, and professionals about the complexities of newborn screening. Emphasis is given to family involvement in the newborn screening process. Also highlighted is the changing nature of US screening programs due to disorders added or debated for addition to the recommended screening panel.
