Fourteen-year-old Megan of Great Valley Middle School in Malvern, Pennsylvania, thought of newborn screening when every student in her 300-plus-member 8th grade class was assigned a 20th Century research project. Megan's project helped educate many people on the need of comprehensive newborn screening and got her an 'A+' in her class.
