Public Awareness
One of the prominent tasks of this organization is public awareness. Save Babies Through Screening Foundation, Inc., works to educate parents and professionals about newborn screening and disorders which can be detected through currently available newborn screening programs.

Support Services
Save Babies Through Screening Foundation, Inc., realizes how important it is to communicate with people who are experiencing similar circumstances.  To help people do this, we maintain a roster of disorder-specific support groups to which families are referred for direct support.  A roster of state health departments is also maintained as a reference for families who want to learn more about their state newborn screening program and who want to advocate for program enhancements.

  Researchers are working to (1) develop new and improved methods for mass screening of newborns; and (2) develop effective treatments for those with disorders identified through newborn screening.  By exploring new technologies, newborn screening will continue to improve the lives of our babies. Save Babies Through Screening Foundation, Inc., will contribute to newborn screening and related disorder research depending on the availability of funds.  In addition,  the foundation conducts research to help identify present problems with newborn screening programs.
